Anna Hall: Mixed Ethnicity with African-American & Caucasian Roots!

So, Anna Hall was born on March 23, 2001, and she’s got this cool mixed background. Her dad, David Hall, is American, and her mom, Ronette Ivey Hall, is African-American.

David, her dad, was super into sports back in the day. He did football, basketball, and decathlon at the University of Michigan. Now, he’s got this job at Alvares & Marsal, a management consulting firm, but he still makes time for Anna and her three siblings.

Her mom, Ronette, has been all about supporting Anna’s journey to the Olympics. She got her into soccer, volleyball, and field hockey when she was younger, which is pretty awesome.

At just 25, she’s already racked up some impressive titles, like being a three-time New Balance National Pentathlon champ between 2017 and 2019. Plus, she’s a high jump champ! She’s also smashed national high school records with 4302 and 5847 points at the USATF Indoor Championships.

But it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. In 2021, during the Olympic trials, she seriously injured herself during the 100-meter hurdles heat, breaking a bone in her left foot. She was devastated, posting, “I didn’t get to put up the score I know I was ready for, and my Olympic dreams (for this year) were shattered before my eyes.“

Still, Anna didn’t let that stop her. She bounced back with a personal best of 4618 points, snagging the SEC indoor title. Even though she kept crushing her track scores, she had to deal with her leg injury, leading to knee surgery in January 2024.

Despite everything, Anna won the heptathlon at the US Olympic trials in June. Her parents were over the moon, saying, “It’s such a blessing, and we’re just so thrilled for her. This has been a dream for her for a long time.” With that kind of support, Anna can do anything she sets her mind to!
