Greg Kihn: The Rock Legend Who Left Behind a $10 Million Legacy!

Greg Kihn, a famous musician and novelist from the U.S., left a big fortune after passing away on August 13, 2024, at 75.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Greg Kihn made a name for himself in American music. He started The Greg Kihn Band in 1976 with his friend Steve Wright.

Their hit songs “The Breakup Song” (1981) and “Jeopardy” (1983) made them super popular. “The Breakup Song” hit number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Jeopardy” reached number 2.

Even though the band isn’t together anymore, their songs still rock. They have 916,374 monthly listeners on Spotify, and Greg’s solo stuff gets 6,637 listeners monthly.

Through his long career, from 1976 to 2019, Greg Kihn made over $10 million, living a fancy life in Clayton, California. After he passed, his net worth goes to his wife, Jay Arafiles-Kihn.

Greg Kihn: More Than Just a Musician

Greg Kihn wasn’t just a musician. He was also a radio personality and novelist. In 1996, he became a radio DJ at KUFX, a Bay Area classic rock station. He worked there for 16 years, making good money.

In the same year, he started writing. His first novel, “Horror Show,” was released in 1996 and even got a nomination for the Bram Stoker Award for Best First Novel. He published a new book every year till 1999, including “Shade of Pale,” “Big Rock Beat,” and “Mojo Hand.”

His books are still popular and sold on sites like Amazon. Even after his death, they continue to bring in money for his family or charities.

Greg Kihn also gave a lot to charity, supporting groups like Operation Care and Comfort and Oakland Children’s Hospital. In 2019, the Lymphoma Society nominated him for the Man of the Year Award.
