Hadley Duvall’s Journey: A Story of Resilience and Advocacy

So, there’s this girl, Hadley Duvall. She’s 22 now, but her life wasn’t always easy. She grew up in Kentucky, and things were pretty rough for her at home. Her stepdad, Jeremy Whitledge, wasn’t a good guy, and her mom, Jennifer Adkins Miller, had a hard time with alcohol. Hadley’s been through a lot, starting when she was just 5 years old.

When Hadley was only 12, something really tough happened—she found out she was pregnant. Imagine being in 7th grade and dealing with something like that. It must’ve been super scary and lonely for her. But instead of staying silent, Hadley decided to speak up, especially when Kentucky’s government started talking about banning abortions.

Hadley knew how important it was for girls to have a choice, especially when it came to something as serious as pregnancy. When the state’s Attorney General, Daniel Cameron, started pushing for a near-total abortion ban, Hadley wasn’t having it. She called him out, saying it’s just not right to force a young girl to have a baby, especially under such awful circumstances.

Meanwhile, Hadley’s mom was dealing with her own stuff, trying to handle her issues with alcohol. Hadley felt like she couldn’t really talk to her mom about what was happening with her stepdad because she didn’t want to mess up the image of their “perfect” family. They did all the usual family stuff—cheerleading competitions, Christmas celebrations, vacations—but under the surface, things were really tough for Hadley.

For years, Hadley kept everything to herself. But when she finally opened up to her mom in 2017, things started to change. They went to the police, and eventually, her stepdad got what he deserved. By 2024, Jeremy Whitledge pleaded guilty and went to prison. Hadley’s story shows that even when life is hard, it’s possible to stand up and make things better.

Additional Info:

  • Hadley was born in 2002 in Owensboro, Kentucky. There’s not much info about her real dad, but it seems like her parents split up when she was young, and then her mom remarried Jeremy.
  • Hadley’s got a brother and a half-sister, but they stay out of the spotlight.
