Ryan Victor Snyder’s death hit hard for his family, friends, and all the people who knew him. People were comfortable just having him around. Kind nature, funny at the right moments, always caring. Losing someone like that feels unreal.
When I read about Ryan Victor Snyder’s death, it reminded me, honestly, of people I once knew at school. Those athletes who were not just good at sports but also good humans. The type who helped others but made no noise about it. That is actually the kind of loss that stays with you.
He was the beloved son of Sharon Rosenberg and Alan Snyder. He was also a fairly close brother to Jared Snyder. His family meant everything to him, as is evidenced by every memory shared about his life.
He was not only deeply loved by his grandparents, Donna and Alan Rosenberg, Harriet Snyder, but also remembered by the late Michael Snyder and Teresa Whitesell Snyder. As a nephew, cousin, and friend, Ryan laid strong bonds wherever he went. He is remembered mainly for being generous with his time and heart.
At the time of his death, Ryan was taking a business course at the University of Georgia. Serious about his studies, he also worked very hard toward the goals he set for himself. Even back in high school, he was doing well both in class and on the field.
Ryan played basketball and volleyball; he also wrestled. Along with sports, he earned a spot in the National Honor Society, which shows he balanced everything really well. It is not easy to balance sports and academics, but he made it work.
Outside school life, he enjoyed some simple pleasures: movies, poker, sports, and hanging out outdoors, nothing artificial; just real interests where he could find peace and fun.
Close people will talk about his dry wit. The kind that sneaks up on you and makes you snort when least expected. Even when things did seem hard, he could lighten the air.
Ryan also made many good friends among the kids he met during his years growing up. A special place for him was Six Points, a Jewish sports camp in North Carolina. It felt more like a second home to him, and the memories he made there will be preserved by his friends forever.
Family meant a great deal to Ryan. He enjoyed playing board games with the family most and was vigorously involved in fantasy football leagues. One league included him, his brother, his cousins, his uncle, his father, and his grandfather. More than a game, it became a tradition that brought everyone together.
After the death of Ryan Victor Snyder, the family held a private burial at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery in Chesterfield. They also sat Shiva from Monday, December 8, through Thursday, December 11, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at their home, where people came to share support.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road, St. Louis, Missouri. For those who could not attend a live stream, it was also possible.
The family asks that for anyone wishing to honor Ryan, he is to be remembered through donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness NAMI, the Foundation for Jewish Camp, or any charity that feels meaningful to them.
Ryan Victor Snyder’s death is a life reminder that things can change fast. What is left behind are memories, laughter, and the feeling that something gave others. That part never really goes away.
